Eight Months

Eight Months! Look at my girl grow.  

Faye is still a sweet little thing.  Some noteworthy attributes about Faye at eight months:

• She is pretty fast crawler, though Sunday dresses tend to slow her down.
• She loves her finger foods and is still a good eater overall.
• She pulls up along everything.  Bets are that she's walking by the time she's a year old.
• She makes a "hollow growl" that sounds like a dinosaur "rawr!"
• She continues to melt the hearts of strangers.  The tender little thing.

 

Yes, I'm guilty of dressing my baby girl in little boy clothes, but she makes them look good.

Blustery Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  Faye's the only member of this household who got dressed up for the occasion,  Alan and I are pretty lazy with St. Patrick's Day.  We spent this blustery afternoon with Sharon, Kelly, and Ryan!  Kelly suggested that we take advantage of the wind and go fly a kite.  What an excellent suggestion it was!

 The Wind was so intense that it was a full body workout to keep the kite from flying away!  We had quite a time with it.

Sharon, being the smallest of us, was the most entertaining to watch fly the kite.  There were many moments when we thought she was going to be carried away by the wind.

Ryan, of course, showed us all up by finding a way to relax while flying a kite in this windy-windy weather.

 

Faye even enjoyed the festivities!  Look at her go.

Organic Fun

Pi Day was such a warm and beautiful day, I couldn't help but take Faye outside to enjoy the grass.  At first she wanted nothing to do with the dry, prickly grass.  Faye sat on her bum with her arms and legs lifted into the air to get them as far away from the stiff grass as she could.  But then Alan introduced her to LEAVES!

I think her reaction is best described in real time:

Oh happy day!  We'll miss our apartment and our great neighbors when we move.

Spring Break

We decided that this year our family should do something fun for Spring Break rather than just work all week long (like we've done the past two years).  So we stopped by my Parent's house for a few days where Alan showed Faye how to indulge in nap time.

After a lovely weekend with Mom, Greg, and Reed we headed up to the Stratford Family Cabin for a couple of days.  This was Faye's first time at the cabin, I think she enjoyed it.

Alan showed Faye all the fun you can have here. 

She thoroughly enjoyed the blocks, crawling space, and cartoons that were available.

Samm and Amy joined us Monday night!  We enjoyed several board games together. 

 Monopoly decided to hate on me, so I went bankrupt first.  I found a camera to entertain myself with, though. 

What's a trip to the cabin with out some munchies?  Faye loved her Scooby Snacks.  Luckily there were some left for her to eat after Mom and Dad had a few, or more.

Thanks for letting us use the cabin, Grandma Stratford.  We had a great time!

Fun With Uncle Reed

Oh sunshine,  how nicely you pair with a happy baby in a swing.

On our last trip to Riverton my mom pulled out the baby swing!  Reed and Faye both enjoyed it immensely.

Reed's one of the creative minds in the world.  After a few moments of traditional swinging he found a few ways to spice things up.

Push the baby with your foot!

Diving under the swing!

And, of course, taking a turn in the baby swing!  Man, I love this kid!

It's Official!

Faye is crawling!  Yippie!
