More 5 Month Pics

Faye at 5 Months:  She's growing faster than ever before!  I swear she's grown 2 inches and 2 pounds in the last week alone.  Faye's just about sitting on her own, though she's still trying to sit up from laying down.  She loves to be lifted in the air and to "fly" around!

Miss Hollers made this sweet little dinosaur jumper for Faye.  We love it so!

Christmas Moments

Merry Christmas!  Here are a few quick moments from our Christmas Day:

Alan helped Faye learn how to unwrap her present.  Coincidentally, this was the only present under our tree that was wrapped in paper.

Church on Christmas was the most wonderful thing this year!  We had to bring a clean baby, though.  This is the first time I've ever felt guilty for saying bath time was over.

Faye's a pretty smart girl.  Yes she loves to play with the water, but she understands that the handle makes the water turn on and off.  If the water isn't on she spends most of the bath trying to reach the handle to turn it on.

Charlie Brown Christmas

I've had mixed feelings towards the upcoming holidays this year.  Between family events, end of the semester for Alan, getting sick, spending each day at home with the wee one, and our small present budget it just hasn't felt like the holidays for me.  I have been feeling so indifferent towards Christmas and the holiday season.

That all changed thanks to Charlie Brown.  In attempts to have a Christmas atmosphere in our home tonight we watched Charlie Brown's Christmas.  It helped me feel better about our very poor Christmas we'll be having this year.  It's not about trimmings or presents, but about remembering the Savior and all that he has done for us.  I'm excited to go to bed tonight and read the Nativity story again.  Hopefully this year's humble Christmas will be something I'll always remember.  I want to be able to help others who are less fortunate to have a Christmas that is warm and cheerful.  Let it be written, and let it be done!

Merry Christmas in just a few moments!

5 Months!

I can't believe Faye is already 5 months old!  She's a doll and is learning to become more independent.  She can now roll over, eat "solids," and hold a bottle on her own.

We managed to get a few 5 month pictures for Faye, but I forgot to bring the sign down to Riverton.  So don't you worry, there will be more on the way!

Life of a little one!

I pulled out the camera to take a few pictures of Faye enjoying my Mom's livingroom:

Dear sweet Ann made Faye this darling Hello Kitty hat!  I'm so excited for Faye to grow into it a bit.  Thanks Ann!

Christmas with the Dudleys

Alan, Faye and I went down to Riverton for the Dudley Christmas get together!  Loads of fun!  One of the highlights include playing a fierce game of Clue during which Mr. Plum was replaced by a decapitated Magneito, who managed to be the murderer twice.

Mom fell asleep during our game and would mumble things like "I want to play, too!"  And Heidi reached her energy wall for the day and announced that her nose was above her eyes.  So much fun.

It was great to have time to visit with out having to rush back to Logan for school and work.  We even got some time in to visit friends!  It was really a great trip.

New discovery!

Faye discovered her tongue and the joys of sticking it out!  I think it's one of the cutest things to find her sticking it out.

Turkey Trot

Annette, Ryan, Alan and I ran a Turkey Trot in Anthem, CO Thanksgiving morning.  The weather couldn't have been better!  We drove to the race course in style, thanks to Kelly's rental vehicle.

Ready at the starting line:

And the runners are off!  This is the first community race I've been to that sends off runners in heats.

Kelly, Sharon and Jeremy were on little girl duty while the four of us ran.  It seems like they had a good time.

Annette finished first with a sub 22:00 time!

Ryan finished within the next minute after having thrown up on the course.  I'm told he also got sick after finishing, poor guy.  Hopefully this is a lesson to not eat spaghetti before running!

Alan and I brought up the rear in our group.  It wasn't a good "race" for either of us, and it's the first race that I haven't cared to see what my finish time was. However, this was the first chance we had to be be alone together since Faye was born.  So I like to look at it as a much needed date.

Cambrie wanted so badly to run a race that Annette gave her race bib to Cambrie.  She gladly joined in the kids race and was so excited to cross the finish line.

Turkey Trots really are my favorite part about Thanksgiving, especially when you get to do them with your family.

Big Girl!

Faye had her 4 month checkup today!  She weighed in at 14 pounds 7 ounces and measures 25 inches.  Holy Cow!  Healthy all around.  Faye had to get a few shots, and she handled it so well!  She stopped crying the moment I picked her up from the table.  What a good girl.

The doctor suggested we try giving her some rice cereal, so we cracked out the high chair and gave it a go!

She ate a good few bites!

Four Months Old

It's crazy how life with a new baby means I keep track of time more.  It has been an official four months since Faye's birth!  She continues to grow and entertain us.  This week Faye has learned how to "play" with toys and can giggle on demand, if you know how to push the right buttons.  I love that this little lady can make me love her more and more every day.

I set up this activity center today for her to enjoy.  She's been loving it so far, and so have I!

Let it Snow!

Faye and snow have finally existed at the same time!

She didn't seem to mind the snow, for the whole minute we were out side.

I felt bad for making my little girl stand outside with no socks on, so we quickly wrapped her up in a big, fuzzy blanket.

Great Things

As mentioned before, Faye is partial to Alan.  He can make her laugh on a daily basis. Me? I'm not that lucky.  But today I had a break through in getting giggles out of Faye!

You may recognize that we are watching Mythbusters on my laptop.  Today Faye's favorite word is "explosion."  7 times out of 10 she would smile when Jamie and Adam said "explosion" or when we said it.   I'm so proud of my little girl!

Soccer Exposure

Faye and I were able to watch Reed's last soccer game of the season!  It was a cold morning in Roy, but it's always fun to watch my brother play soccer.

Mom has a great eye and or skill for action shots.  Even though this game was quite overcast and light was an issue, she still managed to get some great shots of Reed and his team mates.

It is common knowledge that soccer is a family sport.  My parents have a full sized goal in their back yard and everybody is excited for Faye to learn how to play the game.  Reed decided to introduce her to the sport after his soccer game.

(As a side note, I absolutely love this jumper/fuzzy suit of joy!  Please note the little ears on the hood.  My baby looks like an ewok!)

More Leaves

One last photoshoot in the leaves for this year.  This time we brought along our friend, Andrea, and her little boy, Sean.  Both of the kidlets were sporting their Halloween outfits.

Sean is a speedly little guy and was more interested in crawling around than sitting for pictures.  It was an adventure trying to get a picture of him.

Yay for this time of year!
